Aftermarket auto warranties often distinguish between mechanical breakdown coverage and ordinary wear and tear. Unless your auto warranty service has specific language in the warranty addressing wear and tear, it is not covered in the agreement.
There are many moving parts in your vehicle that wear out naturally. Brakes, brake pads, pistons, seals, and filters all have a shorter lifespan than tires, headlights and the engine itself. When these items wear out, repairs can be costly because of the labor involved to remove and replace them. An aftermarket auto warranty that covers wear and tear will pay for these repairs (based on what's in your contract).
Before you accept an aftermarket auto warranty, ask your auto warranty service representative if wear and tear is part of the agreement and what specific repairs you can get that the warranty pays for.
