Text Size | Print

Many individuals who are interested in enrolling an online degree program are concerned about finding the money to pay for their program of study. Fortunately, the options for getting money to pay for higher education are very similar for accredited online degrees and on-campus degree programs.

U.S. colleges and universities that offer regionally or nationally accredited online degrees are eligible to participate in federal financial aid programs. In order to find out how much assistance you may qualify for, you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Additionally, if you qualify for GI Bill funding or other service-related educational assistance programs, you will likely be able to utilize this funding when you enroll in an accredited online degree program.

Many employers have tuition assistance programs to help their employees enroll in degree programs. Most employers view accredited online degrees very favorably, as they don’t have to worry about work and school scheduling conflicts. Consult your employee manual or see your HR representative to learn about options with your company.

Additional options for paying for accredited online degrees include seeking private scholarship funding, taking out an alternative educational loan or getting a home equity line of credit.
